Our client is looking for a Maintenance Manager (a retired Builder / Property maintenance individual) to manage the maintenance of their buildings nationwide.Responsibilities:Liaising with contractors to affect the necessary repairs and achieving a win win.Planning and Oversight: Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation. Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.Team Management: Manage a team of technicians, custodians, and other maintenance staff. Allocate workload and supervise staff. Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and coaching.Budget Management: Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.Safety and Compliance: Ensure health and safety policies are complied with. Implement and maintain safety standards and procedures in line with legal requirements and company policies.Emergency Handling: Respond to emergency calls for maintenance. Make decisions in emergency situations to prevent damage or deterioration of property.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects.Key Skills:Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills.Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building systems, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Organizational: Good organizational and multitasking abilities.Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with an ability to spot safety risks and technical issues.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new challenges and changes in the work environment.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor in the building/property maintenance industry.Relevant technical knowledge and qualifications related to building maintenance. a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or vocational training in construction, building maintenance, or a related field is a plus.Certification in facilities management - a plus.Experience in planning maintenance operations.Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.Ability to keep track of and report on activity.Legal compliance and knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
