A leading manufacturer in the consumer goods sector is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing effective production schedules, coordinating with procurement and operations teams, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand. Reporting to the Manufacturing Executive, the role also involves supporting cross-departmental workflow, maintaining accurate production records, and overseeing material planning and work order execution to ensure smooth production operations.Responsibilities:Ensure the availability of materials to meet production demandsCoordinate with supervisors and internal stakeholders on production requirementsCreate and distribute work orders and production schedulesRevise schedules as needed based on operational changesPlan production timetables aligned with sales forecastsCapture and maintain production dataProvide supporting documentation for delays or cost changesPerform ad hoc administrative tasks as requiredRequirements:Grade 12 (Matric)Minimum of 2 years' experience in a production planning roleProven experience as a planner in a plastics manufacturing environment (essential)Proficient in JDE systems (scheduler, work order reconciliation, MRP, MRP11)Strong coordination and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)High accuracy and critical thinkingAbility to work under pressure with minimal supervisionStrong time management, planning, and organizational skillsCapable of managing multiple projects simultaneously Benefits:
