- Minimum 5 years experience in a design office environment, with a focus on the mining industry and designing mining equipment such as conveyors, chutes, and thickeners.
- Completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D design software, including Revit, Advance Steel, Inventor, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working on processing plants will be advantageous.
- Utilize CAD software to support engineers and project managers by preparing concepts, final models, plant layouts, and detail drawings.
- Draft designs across multiple disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation.
- Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and complex drawings.
- Incorporate feedback from engineers and project managers to make adjustments to drawings and designs.
- Collaborate with the design team to review drawings and ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Ensure final drawings align with approved designs and comply with safety regulations.
- Oversee fabrication of steel components, conducting QC inspections to ensure compliance with drawings.
- Assist in developing preliminary project timelines and bills of materials for project costing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.
