- Develop Mechanical Building Services construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and building design standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors and other construction professionals to ensure that designs are feasible and meet all client project requirements.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and refine construction project designs. Creating 3D models and animations using CAD, Revit and BIM software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and construction techniques.
- Develop and maintain project and contract documentation, including design reports and drawings and specifications.
- Ensure that construction projects meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to building safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget and in compliance with defined quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and make recommendations to senior project management team members.
- Conduct regular project team meetings and provide guidance and support to the multi-disciplinary team members.
- Ensure that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and project planning and milestone changes.
- BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Mechanical). Must provide Certificate with transcript.
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer. Must provide Certificate with registration number.
- At least 10 years’ experience in engineering.
- Five (5) of the ten (10) years post professional registration (Pr.Eng) should be in mechanical design experience including Construction Management.
- Strong technical background in engineering design and construction, as well as excellent design and problem-solving skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of construction implementation processes and standards as well as project management principles.
- Excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to guide and lead supporting staff.
