Our client, an operationally efficient storage facility in proximity to coastal and inland logistics hubs, is searching for a qualified diesel mechanic to join their team who has exposure and is familiar with Yellow Metal. The job will entail inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and machinery.Key Responsibilities
Diagnosis: Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems in diesel engines and related systems.
Repair & Maintenance: Performing repairs, replacements, and adjustments to various parts, including engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and braking systems.
Routine Servicing: Conducting routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, and tyre rotations.
Testing: Test-driving vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of services and repairs performed.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
Collaboration: Working with other mechanics and technicians to complete projects efficiently.
Essential Skills
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, components, and repair techniques. Must have experience working with Yellow Metal (Excavators, front end loaders, TLB’s, Skid Steer Loaders, Tele Handlers etc). Preferably Komatsu/ Bell/ Caterpillar etc.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret diagnostic test results to identify issues.
Repair Skills: Proficiency in using relevant specialised equipment for repairs.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions.
Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues, and supervisors.
