Abattoir Shift Leader

- Supervise and coordinate all activities in the abattoir during designated shifts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and industry regulations
- Manage and motivate a team of abattoir workers
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Oversee inventory control and stock management
- Report any issues or concerns to the Abattoir Manager
- Proven experience working in an abattoir environment
- FSSC22000, HACCP, Meat Classification
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant vocational training or certification in meat processing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the meat processing industry
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role withinin a high throughput abattoir
- Pork abattoir industry advantageous
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Additional training in health and safety
- Experience with inventory management software
- Experience with Meat Matrix software advantageous
- Shift work not required
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures and loud machinery
- Physical stamina needed for standing and lifting
