
FLEET CONTROLLER to be based in Vereeniging

- Matric and/or a relevant diploma/degree in Logistics, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel) and the proven ability to manage administrative tasks, including accurate capturing of driver log sheets, diesel slips, delivery notes, operational records, route planning, and vehicle tracking
- A valid code 8/B driver's licence or higher
- Must be willing to work extended day/night shifts on a rotational basis, including weekends, public holidays, and standby duties as required.
- Experience using a Transport Management System such as DataTim, CTRL Fleet, Dovetail, or Transnova
- Knowledge of diesel management processes and issuing truck stop orders
- Experience with vehicle compliance tracking (permits, licences, service intervals)
- Familiarity with debriefing load documents and ensuring all invoices/documentation are complete before submission to finance
- Proficiency in an African language
- Building strong, professional relationships with company and subcontractor drivers while maintaining clear authority.
- Dispatching drivers correctly and providing accurate load information.
- Monitoring tracking systems for route deviations, unauthorised stops, and extended waiting times.
- Capturing drivers’ daily log sheets into the Operations Workbook each morning.
- Finding solutions for delays and issues reported by drivers, or escalating to the Operations Manager with proposed solutions.
- Conducting accurate route planning ahead of time and issuing route plans to each driver.
- Capturing and issuing diesel and truck stop orders in line with planned routes.
- Ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets are consistently met for all trucks and smaller vehicles.
- Maintaining and issuing vehicle checklists to drivers.
- Signing off on checklists each time a vehicle enters or exits the depot.
- Reporting discrepancies promptly to the Inventory Controller.
- Monitoring vehicle permits, licences, and service intervals, with regular reporting.
- Recording all reported vehicle faults in detail on the Workshop list.
- Debriefing load documents from each driver thoroughly.
- Checking that all invoices are signed and submitted, and resolving missing documentation issues before submission.
- Assigning internal load numbers to each delivery note.
- Ensuring all outstanding diesel and refund slips are collected and submitted by drivers.
