The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of EQT, assisting in the coordination and execution of tasks that contribute to the smooth running and ongoing improvement of the business, assisting with the implementation of both day-to-day operational routines and broader strategic initiatives.In addition, the candidate will bring structure, follow-through, and visibility to EQT’s evolving priorities. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong organisational ability, and a willingness to engage in everything from process clean-up and supplier coordination to product-related improvements and internal execution support. It offers broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to build valuable skills in project coordination and operational delivery while working with cross- functional teams across Old Mutual.Key responsibilities will include amongst others:Supporting the execution of business and operational projects by tracking actions and following up on deliverables.Assisting with the clean-up, organisation, and maintenance of business data, templates, records, and internal systems.Helping coordinate stakeholders and suppliers involved in business processes or platform enhancements.Maintaining trackers, shared folders, and basic documentation to improve project visibility.Preparing meeting notes, following up on agreed actions, and keeping priorities organised.Participating in internal improvement projects and documenting better ways of working.Assisting with light testing, user feedback, and coordination related to EQT app improvements (training provided).Providing flexible support across a range of projects, adapting as priorities shift.Approaching tasks with curiosity, and using initiative to clarify, follow up, and problem-solve where needed.These responsibilities offer an overview and general outline of the role and are not exhaustive.Qualifications and Experience requiredMatric and a relevant diploma or degree in business administration, finance or operations preferred.1–3 years’ experience in financial services, operations, or business support.Experience in or exposure to the asset management, investment, or financial services industry strongly preferred.Strong organisational skills and a structured, task-driven mindsetComfortable working with lists, deadlines, and follow-ups across multiple priorities.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently.Confident using basic digital productivity tools (e.g. spreadsheets, docs, shared drives, email platforms).Exposure to business or technical project environments is advantageous but not required.A strong willingness to learn and grow in a high-performance, delivery-focused environment.SkillsComputer Literacy, Database Administration, Database Management Systems (DBMS), Database Queries, Data Controls, Document Management, Executing Plans, Expertise Management System, Knowledge Management, Metadata Management, Object-Oriented Database Management System (OODBMS), Office Systems, Oral Communications, Policies & Procedures, Test Case ManagementCompetenciesCollaboratesCommunicates EffectivelyDecision QualityEnsures AccountabilityManages ComplexityOptimizes Work ProcessesPlans and AlignsTech SavvyEducationNQF Level 7 - Degree, Advance Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate or equivalentClosing Date08 September 2025 , 23:59The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.The Old Mutual Story!
