Operations Manager

• Manage and authorise all procurement related to operations / production, in line with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
• Manage all Human Resource related issues, including payroll administration.
• Responsible for all staffing requirements in the operations / production area.
• Manage security, safety and access control of the plant.
• Manage and control levels of productivity within the department.
• Conduct performance management sessions with employees to discuss Key Perfomance Indicators.
• Responsible for housekeeping of the operations / production areas.
• Measuring and reporting of actuals against budgets.
• Monthly reporting to the management team.
• Attend and / or conduct production meetings on a regular basis.
• Ensure raw materials are effectively utilized within the operations / production area.
• Ensure that Syspro system is properly used within the area of responsibility.
• Write and update policies and procedures inline with the company's QMS system.

• Technical after school studies (min 3 years diploma / degree) e.g. Mechanical / Industrial / projects engineering or the like and min of 3 to 5 years production (machine shop) related experience.
• Must have previous management experience.
• Must have experience in dealing with HR / labour related issues.
• Must have the ability to work well and communicate well with fellow colleagues.
• Must be-able to work well under pressure.
• Must be a self-starter able to carry projects through from start to completion
• Must be well organised.
• Must be an excellent communicator.
