Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant who’s ready to bring sharp commercial expertise to the table and play a pivotal role in keeping this industry ahead of the curve. As the trusted right-hand to the Head of Accounting and Reporting, you’ll be steering financial reporting, driving compliance, and rolling up your sleeves to contribute to strategic budgeting and forecasting. If you’ve honed your skills in manufacturing, construction, freight-forwarding, or logistics, and you’re proudly registered with CIMA, SAICA, or SAIPA, then this could be your next move. This is more than crunching numbers; it’s about influencing decisions, shaping growth, and making your mark in a powerhouse industry.As the Senior Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following:
Manage the full accounting function across a group of companies
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Oversee reconciliations of bank, ledger, and intercompany accounts
Review and approve supplier reconciliations and ensure timely payments
Manage cash drawdown requests and report on cashflows to stakeholders
Drive month-end and year-end closing processes
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax laws, and internal policies
Prepare reports and schedules for internal and external audits
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Enhance systems, processes, and internal controls, including automation initiativesSkills & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong knowledge when it comes to IFRS Standards
Proficiency in Navision and Oracle
Experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, Construction or Logistics industry
Multi-currency experience would be highly beneficialQualification:
Registered with CIMA, SAICA, or SAIPA
