Metrology Technician

• National Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics
• A minimum of 5 years of Metrology measuring experience (tactile or optical)
• A minimum of 5 years of measuring software experience (PC-Dmis, GOM, Polyworks)

• Offline and teach programming experience of CMM facilities
• Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of CAD software (Catia preferable)
• Working understanding of CMM maintenance and TPM
• Interpretation of technical drawings
• Design and building of measuring fixtures
• Sound understanding of the vehicle manufacturing process (Press Shop, Body Shop, assembly, purchase parts manufacturing)
• Problem-solving skills
• Analytical thinking capability
• Planning and prioritization skills

• Conduct dimensional measurements of vehicle components to ensure conformity to drawing specifications
• Conduct detailed measurements and analysis to aid the parts approval process of internal and external supplier parts
• Provide dimensional analysis and problem-solving ability to successfully resolve production concerns and improve the overall product quality
• Conduct dimensional approval of vehicle components to ensure the successful release of components at the correct quality levels at relevant PEP milestones
• Provide support to the external supplier base to ensure correct dimensional Metrology methods and principles are applied to ISO/V DA requirements
