- Develop, implement, and oversee the SHE management system in line with OHS Act, Environmental Regulations, and Food Safety Standards (HACCP, ISO/FSSC) across all sites.
- Maintain the SHE management system (policies , procedures and all work instructions)
- Establish annual SHE objectives, policies, and targets aligned with company strategy.
- Drive a zero-harm culture across all plants through proactive leadership and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation (OHS Act, COID, Environmental Management Act).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analysis, and job safety
- Oversee accident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage PPE programs, safe work permits, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ensure medical surveillance, health checks, and wellness programs are implemented.
- Monitor and control dust emissions, waste disposal, effluent management, and chemical handling.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability targets.
- Drive initiatives to minimize energy, water, and resource usage within the plant.
- Oversee Internal and External SHE audits and liaise with local authorities on compliance matters.
- Ensure all audit finding are closed
- Develop and implement SHE training programs for employees, contractors, and management.
- Ensure all new employees are onboarded with SHE training
- Conduct emergency response drills, fire safety training, and first aid programs.
- Build SHE awareness campaigns to encourage safe
- Maintain accurate SHE records, registers, and legal
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual SHE performance reports for senior management.
- Ensure incident statistics, LTIFR (Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate), and compliance indicators are tracked and improved.
- Lead, mentor, and develop all staff including health and safety
- Conduct safety meetings
- Grade 12 / Matric
- OHS, SAMTRAC qualification or equivalent (mandatory).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Health & Safety within manufacturing/packaging/food industry (preferred).
- Knowledge of OHS Act, COID, Environmental Regulations, HACCP, and FSSC standards.
- Fire Fighting, First Aid, and Risk Assessment certifications
- Proven Experience as a SHEQ Manager
- Auditing experience in SHE
- Extensive Knowledge of SHE Systems (ISO 14001, 18001 45001)
