A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Laboratory Analyst (shift work) to perform chemical testing on Finished Product and Water Samples.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that the samples received agree to the Production Program and label copy
  • Ensures the correct procedures are followed.
  • All results are correctly calculated to determine acceptability
  • Ensures samples are taken at the correct process steps and released timeously
  • Ensures that the monthly water points are sampled and tested timeously
  • Tests finished products using current pharmacopoeias/SOP associated with 'wet' chemistry and instrumental techniques (HPLC, IR, UV, AA, FTIR, Flame photometer etc), as appropriate
  • Initiates an out of specification investigation form and reports failing results to the Supervisor. Manager during failures
  • Ensures that equipment is calibrated and validated before use by checking the calibration.
  • Ensure that samples after analysis are defaced and discarded in the waste area
  • Determines whether results are acceptable and liaises with Supervisor / Manager to determine if resampling / retesting is required.
  • Performs duties deemed necessary by Superior
  • Assists in the investigation of out of specification results
  • Ensures compliance to limits on the Analytical reports
  • Tests customer complaint's as and when required
Requirements:
  • BSc Degree or National Diploma in Chemistry
  • 2 -3 years Lab experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
  • HPLC experience in Pharmaceuticals Quality Control Laboratory will be an advantage
