
Financial and Retail Operations Supervisor - East London

- Matric certificate.
- Diploma / certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Minimum of three years proven work experience in a similar role.
- Experience with fuel management systems such as WinBranch and Namos is required.
- Knowledge and experience of the Zero accounting system will also be a big advantage.
- Ability to take instruction from superiors and work in a team environment.
- Experience with spreadsheets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Honesty, integrity and reliability.
- Manage all accounting transactions including daily sales reconciliations and accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform cash reconciliations, card transaction reconciliations, daily cash-ups, sales reconciliations and bank deposits.
- Work closely with the Accountant, Administrator (Accounting) and General Manager (Operations).
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct monthly stock takes and reconcile inventory records.
- Ensure timely bank payments and prepare monthly financial analysis packs.
- Comply with all financial policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with head office and external auditors and prepare for audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely execution.
- Perform any other reasonable duties expected of an Accountant and Operations Supervisor.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure product availability, proper stock rotation and compliance with merchandising standards.
- Oversee fuel sales, pricing updates and stock replenishment.
- Supervise, train and evaluate staff to maintain high performance and service standards.
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift planning and attendance tracking.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement and motivation.
- Ensure excellent customer service by resolving complaints and maintaining service standards.
- Train staff to improve customer interactions and enhance the overall shopping experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and service providers.
- Prepare and present weekly reports on expenses, shortages, claims and operational risks.
- Provide management with regular financial performance, sales trend and operational efficiency reports.
- Analyse data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost-saving.
- Assist in strategic business planning to optimise profitability.
