Role PurposeThe Facilities Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the full technical component of commercial and retail facilities, including air conditioning, electrical systems, lifts, generators, and elevators. The role ensures smooth, efficient, and compliant operations, with accountability for budgeting, sustainability, staff management, and service provider performance.Key ResponsibilitiesBudgeting & Expense ControlContribute to the preparation of annual expense budgets and quarterly forecasts.Oversee procurement and purchase orders to ensure compliance with budget limits.Maintain accurate stock registers and records, ensuring procurement from authorised suppliers.Benchmark and monitor actual maintenance costs against historical trends and budget plans.Compile and manage a five-year rolling maintenance plan aligned with organisational strategies.Tenant & Staff ManagementManage and support staff, ensuring service delivery standards are met.Address tenant concerns relating to technical facilities and service quality.Foster a customer-focused environment through efficient problem resolution and communication.Audits & ComplianceConduct audits of building systems and technical services.Ensure compliance with OSHACT, safety regulations, and all statutory requirements.Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, compliance certificates, and technical records.Service Provider ManagementManage external contractors and service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.Monitor performance, negotiate costs, and drive continuous improvement in outsourced services.Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance requirements in all supplier activities.Sustainability & InnovationImplement sustainable building management practices to reduce costs and environmental impact.Drive energy efficiency initiatives, waste reduction programmes, and water conservation measures.Support long-term sustainability goals in alignment with industry best practices.Minimum RequirementsBachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with OSHACT exam passed OR National Diploma (S4) in Engineering with a Government Compliance Certificate (GCC).710 years experience in technical roles with strong emphasis on electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.Experience in retail (preferred), commercial, or industrial property environments.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Proven ability to manage budgets, audits, and technical projects in complex facilities.Competencies & AttributesTechnical expertise across multiple disciplines.Strong compliance and safety orientation.Effective leadership and staff management skills.Commercially minded with strong budgeting and cost control ability.Commitment to sustainability and innovation in facilities management.Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
