MAINTENANCE MANAGER – ENGINEERING - JHBFull job descriptionSupervise subordinates.Prioritize and Assign tasks to relevant individuals, critical spares management and procurement and maintain good stock levels, ensure all regulatory checks and legal documents are done periodically.Co-ordinates the services of all maintenance contractors.Plans shutdowns and PMs ensure spares availability, external service providers, and internal resource planning, ensure all safety procedures and lockouts are followed for all PM tasks.Work with the Project Managers in scoping projects and ensure work quality management during execution.Assisting the Engineering Manager and executing all relevant duties assigned by the engineering manager or all senior Management relevant to the position.Ability to function in a matrix reporting structure.Inspection and maintenanceEnsure the continued practice and continued development of GMP maintenance.Regular inspections of machinery.Assisting Foremen, Supervisors, and artisans with solutions to complex issues.Make sure that regular maintenance and repair of equipment are undertaken.Reporting on conditions of equipment.Interpret deviations recorded and rectify deviations.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities as per Plant Safety.Regulations, preventative maintenance plans, and maintenance procedures, working closely with the maintenance planner.Issue standards and develop reports from SAP-PM module, Present key maintenance data in an effective manner for Plant Operations Reviews and internal department.Subordinate Management.Operational AdministrationComplete and maintain documentation, log sheets, and inspections as per Organisation procedures and Country regulations, relevant to the position.Maintain data and records according to company procedures.HousekeepingIdentify where quality and safety can be improved.Participate in improvement program and initiatives.Maintain a safe work environment.Comply with relevant legislative requirements and standards.Ensure quality standards are maintained and customer requirements addressed.Attend to equipment care and personal safety.GeneralPerform senior standby dutyWrite proceduresRead and interpret drawingsAttend meetingsPerform any other legitimate activity as requiredQualificationsGrade 12N3 Technical, with a valid Boiler Operator CertificateExperienceAt least 1-year experience in Boiler OperationExperience in coal-fired or Biomass boilers will be advantageous.SkillsSkilled in using applicable equipment and systemsGood communicationBasic Computer literacy will be advantageousExcellent supervisory skillsExcellent Communication SkillsAnalytical thinkingComputer literacyCompetenciesAbility to lead and keep a team motivatedUnderstanding of Plant Safety Regulations and Basic safety knowledgeAbility to read and interpret relevant drawingsMaintenance competenceMethodicalAttention to detailDrive and energyAbility to build and maintain stakeholder relationshipsCustomer focus and responsivenessStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to learn and understand process plant control and behaviourKnowledge of the OHS-Act (safety legislation) and related regulations.Between 1 - 3 Years
