Job Summary:The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert advice on the safe use of prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, and ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards. The role involves working closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and suppliers to promote safe and effective medication use while maintaining accurate records and delivering exceptional customer service.Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Registration with SAPC.
  • Proven experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation, ethics, and clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional, caring attitude.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Dispense prescription medicines accurately and in compliance with legal and professional requirements.
  • Provide professional advice on the use, dosage, side effects, and interactions of medicines.
  • Counsel patients on health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices.
  • Check prescriptions for errors and ensure they are clinically appropriate for patients.
  • Manage inventory of medicines and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure all medicines are stored and handled according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain patient medication profiles and accurate pharmaceutical records.
  • Oversee and guide pharmacy assistants, interns, and technicians.
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Stay updated with new medicines, treatments, and pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards in pharmacy practice.
