- Reviewing order details before and on site of delivery to ensure the right stock is delivered to the correct customer.
- Check and review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs.
- Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer and complete administrative requirements.
- Engage with customer in a friendly, service-oriented way at premises to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Maintain open communication with sales department to share customer information & observations and jointly address customer needs and concerns.
- Adhere to the company's offloading procedure in coordination with assistant to ensure right product quality and quantity at customer premises/location.
- Organize orders in the most efficient manner on the truck that will speed up delivery & make it easy for offloading the stock, taking into account any special requests, after each customer drop/delivery.
- Communicate with the fleet coordinator any route changes that occur due to unforeseen circumstances & ensure customer is aware.
- Plan the route as per addresses, with anticipation of delays optimize the route within agreed parameters.
- Plan for steps that can be taken to make up time (e.g., so that a customer that is more flexible could be shifted last in the queues to then enable say 5 other customers to get delivery on time.
- Report any accidents or injuries to Supervisors immediately Notify supervisors about any major repairs and maintenance.
- Perform vehicle inspection such as checking fluid level and tire pressure. Perform vehicle inspection before and after each trip.
- Follow South African driving requirements and road regulations always.
- Maintain the vehicle clean and safe, as well as to branding and appearance standards.
- Adhere to company operating procedures in delivering fragile and hazardous products.
- Maintain trucks and food-dispensing equipment in sanitary working conditions.
- Engage with dispatch on the orders prepared for loading and ensure accuracy against orders in a joint agreed process.
- Organize the orders within the truck in most efficient ways to enable quick drops.
- Liaise with the accounts department to receive authorization for COD customers before leaving the premises.
- Adhere to company operating policies and procedures with regards to preparing all documents relating to deliveries and processing payments for delivered stock.
