Our client is looking for a Quality Control Technician (Raws) to join their team. The main purpose of a Quality Control Technician (Raws) is to manage the raw materials purchases from raw material approvals to setting of standards to prioritizing the analyses of the raw materials by internal and external lab.Responsibilities:Variety of Tasks:New Raw Material evaluations / approvals paperwork and samples.Existing raw material prioritizing to the lab for testing.Existing raw material trouble shooting.Raw material specification setting / updating new and existing raws.Coordination of raw material sampling with the receiving department.Coordination of irradiated raw material releasing.Weekly Raw material preparation for external testing according to external analyses program.Troubleshooting of out of spec raw materials and the raising of Non-Conformance Reports to suppliers.Collaborating with other departments on possible new raw material purchases.Assisting other roles in the department from time to time.Complexity:Evaluation of new raw materials against legislative, food safety and internal requirements.Decision making on deviating raw materials received.Precision and Accuracy:Inaccuracies / poor decisions on raw materials can lead to:Product rejection.Production down times.Customer complaints.Food safety issues.Pressure:High pressure environment connected to production outputs.High pressure on decision making on deviating raw materials and the impact on production.High level of prioritizing and organizing involved.Key Skills:Well organised.Able to prioritizes.Analytical Thinker.Supervisory skills.Self-Motivator.Analytical and microbiological skills / competencies.Mathematical skills.Good Written communication.Planning and organising.Leadership / supervisory skills.Customer Service and Relationship Building.Attention to detail.Initiative.3 5 years working experience within a related field.Food analysis (Lab analysis).Food processing environment.Food Safety/Quality standards (eg.
