- Develop and implement SHERQ policies, procedures, and practices in line with industry regulations and standards.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to employees on SHERQ matters.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and report on key SHERQ performance indicators.
- Ensure the effective management of occupational health and safety programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver SHERQ training programs to promote awareness and competence.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in SHERQ practices.
- Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience as a SHERQ Officer or similar role, preferably in the Food Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety, health, environment, and quality regulations and standards.
- Excellent understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
- Experience in conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Professional certifications in SHERQ, such as NEBOSH or SAMTRAC, are highly desirable.
