MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure service and repairs are carried out to the highest standards of quality possible to ensure customer satisfaction.

To ensure efficient use of materials, equipment and labour resources.

To control and supervise staff in the use of equipment and tools to effect repair and diagnosis of vehicle faults and service to vehicles.

Specific Role Responsibilities1 Repair and service motor vehicles according to AMH standards and specifications Requirements Of Key Duties And Responsibilities1.1 Repair and service vehicles according to specific or franchise specifications1.2 Establish parts required for service or repairs to be performed and ensure the correct parts are ordered1.3 Report to Foreman / Service Advisor promptly on any additional work required1.4 Obtain authorisation prior to carrying out additional work1.5 Obtain technical information from Foreman / Master Technician on problem jobs1.6 Adhere to AMH workshop policies and procedures1.7 Ensure that all old parts are placed in a plastic bag in the boot of the vehicle, except in the case of warranty work where old parts must be returned to the Warranty Clerk1.8 Ensure that all oils and consumables used are recorded on the job card1.9 Ensure that worked hours are clocked correctly1.10 Ensure that the vehicle is kept as clean as possible and that all seat and fender covers are clean1.11 Do not leave keys in an unattended vehicle1.12 Ensure that work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy1.13 Report any faulty / broken equipment to the Foreman / Workshop Manager1.14 Ensure that special tools and equipment are used according to safety regulations and specifications1.15 Ensure that hand tools set conforms to AMH standard1.16 Accept responsibility for apprentice and impart as much technical knowledge to him as possible through explanation, practice and the monitoring of work, including rectifying faults1.18 Reasonable requests by Management outside your job description will be performed from time to time
Qualifications and Experience- Qualified Technician- 2-3 years experience as a Workshop Foreman
