A leading food processing and manufacturing company in Cato Ridge, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the maintenance and engineering functions within a high-paced production environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, technically skilled, and hands-on leader to drive operational excellence, ensure plant reliability, and lead a team of maintenance professionals.   • Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance department to ensure plant machinery and equipment operate at optimal performance levels.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
  • Oversee equipment installations, upgrades, and capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and spare parts procurement effectively.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and maintenance staff to achieve operational goals.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to support manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar senior maintenance/engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in production facilities.
  • Experience in project management, process improvement, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards.
