Cost Accountant

• Cost Accounting:
• Process supplier invoices on Pastel according to requirements, especially item codes, store locations and VAT for machine imports.
• Process customer invoices on Pastel according to requirements, especially item codes, sales codes, store locations and VAT for machine sales, both local and export, machine parts, accessories, tooling packages and consumables.
• Full creditor function for machine, freight forwarders and intercompany suppliers.
• Monitor Pastel reports – inventory valuation by store, sales and gross profit analysis by sales code, customer, items to ensure accurate processing of all invoices.
• Project costing.
• Arrange cyclical and year-end stock counts.
• Send out monthly customer statements.
• Credit control and follow-up on outstanding payment.
• Providing weekly status updates on customer age analysis and collections
• Financial Accounting:
• Fixed asset register.
• Banking:
• Checking payment requisitions and loading payments on the banking platform(s)
• EXCON compliance.
• Letters of credit.
• Petty cash.
• Payroll and HR support:
• Travel and live-out allowances.
• Re-imburse travel claims.
• Prepare schedules for payroll administrators.
• General office support:
• Document management and filing, especially on Dropbox.
• Ad-hoc tasks on request.

• Relevant Finance Degree or Diploma.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong, professional communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft's Office programmes.
• Familiarity with Pastel advantageous.
• Strong sense of responsibility.

• R400 000 – R500 000 per annum plus benefits.
