ENVIRONMENT:With a portfolio of over 20 unique sites under management, our client delivers reliable, secure, and high-performance web experiences. They are seeking a Junior WordPress Maintenance Developer to support their WordPress portfolio by managing updates, troubleshooting issues, handling staging deployments, and performing light customizations. In this role, you will collaborate with senior developers to apply best practices and maintain round-the-clock site reliability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of WordPress experience and at least 2 years of graphic design experience.DUTIES:

Perform routine WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates safely across multiple environments.
Create graphical designs focused on ads and Hero section images.
Create and manage staging environments, deploying changes to production with zero downtime.
Implement and maintain backup, security, and performance optimization measures.
Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues, including PHP errors and database queries.
Collaborate on theming tasks such as CSS tweaks, script enqueueing, and template adjustments.
Utilize WP-CLI, Git, and DirectAdmin for efficient workflow and automation.
Assist with SSL certificate issuance and renewal in DirectAdmin.
Document processes, maintain runbooks, and communicate status updates.

REQUIREMENTS:

1+ year of hands-on WordPress maintenance experience.
2+ years of hands-on graphical designing.
Familiarity with Adobe Suite and Figma.
Familiarity with DirectAdmin hosting panel: sub-domain setup, DNS, SSL via Lets Encrypt.
Proficiency with WP-CLI, Git, and command-line operations.
Basic theming knowledge: CSS, child themes, and enqueueing scripts.
Experience with staging workflows and zero-downtime deployments.
Understanding of backup strategies, database export/import, and security best practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills for PHP, SQL, and front-end asset issues.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Demonstrable graphic design skills and portfolio (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, etc.).

Preferred Skills:

Graphical skills at an intermediate level.
Performance optimization (caching, critical CSS, Core Web Vitals).
Security hardening and malware remediation experience.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
Multi-site WordPress setup knowledge.
Basic PHP and JavaScript customization skills.
