Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Management Accountant/Financial Controller to join a dynamic team in managing a portfolio of operations within the retail sector. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, established group with diverse business interests based in the North of Cape Town.Requirements / QualificationsMinimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified accountant (diploma or higher).Proficiency in Sage/Pastel or similar accounting systems (Autoline/Kerridge advantageous).Strong analytical skills.Advanced Excel knowledge.Excellent communication and presentation abilities, as the role involves direct interaction with senior financial management.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, retail-driven environment.Capable of working under pressure and adhering to strict deadlines, especially during month-end processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation and enhancement of management accounts.Assisting with the implementation of finance department controls.Reviewing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and work in progress.Monitoring bank allocations.Overseeing ad-hoc payments.Preparing VAT submissions from the accounting system.Identifying and resolving finance-related issues across departments.Conducting monthly reviews of intercompany balances, including loans.Liaising with auditors and preparing financial audit documentation.Performing reconciliations for designated accounts.Supporting ad-hoc financial projects as required.
