Position: Waste Water Plant Assistant
Location: International placement onboard a cruise lineAbout the Opportunity:
Crew Life At Sea is currently recruiting Waste Water Plant Assistants on behalf of one of our cruise line partners. This critical role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Advanced Waste Water Treatment (AWWT) System onboard, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. If you have shipboard experience and technical knowledge of wastewater systems, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your maritime career.All placements are made directly with the cruise line Crew Life At Sea does not charge any recruitment or placement fees.Role Responsibilities:Operate and monitor the Advanced Waste Water Treatment (AWWT) System and all related componentsPerform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of filters, membranes, and tanksAdjust system settings to maintain operational efficiency and complianceConduct maintenance and repair work on pumps, blowers, and related equipmentMonitor key system values and respond appropriately to deviations from set pointsEnsure strict compliance with hygiene and safety regulationsMaintain accurate operational logs and reportsSupport shipboard safety culture by following HESS protocols and reporting any violationsWhat You Can Expect:Competitive monthly salary paid in USDAccommodation and meals provided onboardFull medical coverage during your contractCareer development in marine environmental systems and ship operationsWork in a multicultural team and gain global experienceFull onboarding and travel coordination supportWho Were Looking For:Completed apprenticeship as Able Seaman Engine or Rating forming part of an Engineering Watch (STCW requirement)Minimum 1 year of experience at sea as Wiper/Oiler (preferably on cruise ships)Knowledge of AWWT systems, water chemistry basics, and technical troubleshootingExperience with pipe systems, filters, pumps, and blowersAbility to read and interpret technical system descriptions and drawingsEnglish proficiency at A2 level or higher (CEFR scale)Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills
