- Establishes, develops and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organisation products/services.
- Makes telephone calls and in person visits and presentation to existing and potential customers .
- Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Coordinates sales efforts with management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Analyse the territory /market potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organisation.
- Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
- Identifies advantages and compares organisation product/services .
- Plans and organises personal sales strategy by maximizing the return of time investment for the territory/segment.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interest, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical areas.
- Participate in trade shows and conventions.
- Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Monthly and weekly reports on sales, outstanding stock transfers, negative stock, back orders and outstanding dispatches.
- Tiering structure reporting to your AOP figures.
- Growth plan to be updated weekly.
- Growth tracker to be updated weekly.
- Play books to be completed and updated to each customers to read to customers AOP/Budgets/Tiering structures approved.
- Checking orders and booking reports to ensure invoicing has been done.
- Checking enquiry and follow up to ensure that all enquiries are followed up.
- Compiling reconciliations for petrol and entertainment expenses.
- Keeping in contact with management and keeping them informed of all aspects of our company positive or negative.
- Must be familiar with the IT Operating system (eg TIMMS) to assist with training and guidance when required to do so.
- Minimum Qualification – Matric – Technical and or Mechanical qualification is seen as an added advantage.
- Must possess 2-3+Years’ experience in the Electrical/Mechanical sector.
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving.
- Ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
- Must have market knowledge of the market and customer base in the identified area.
- Valid driver’s license
- Extensive travel - Works predominately out of the office. Required to visit customers on site e.g. mining plants.
- Works flexible hours.
- Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
- Position may require out of town travel.
