- At least 4 to 5 years Capacity Management experience (Essential)
- An M+3 Qualification would be an advantage
- ITIL Foundation Qualification an advantage
- Proven record of accomplishment of at least 5 years' experience in the IT industry
- Previous experience in Capacity Planning and Reporting solutions are crucial
- Being able to translate business needs into technology solutions
- Proven ability to understand the dynamics of technology
- Experience in Mainframe and Open Systems
- Driver's license with reliable transport (Compulsory)
- Ensures that appropriate levels of monitoring of resource capacity and system performance are executed, and that the information recorded in a CBD is kept up-to-date and used by all parts of the Capacity Management process.
- Provides regular management reports, which include current usage of resources, trends and forecasts.
- Contributes to reports on performance against targets contained in SLA’s.
- Maintains a knowledge of future demand for IT resources and associated SLAs and predicts the effects of demand on performance service levels.
- Determines when system resources should be tuned and makes recommendations to IT management on the design and use of system resources to optimize their use.
- Provides resolution recommendations to performance-related Incidents and Problems
- Ensures that there is sufficient capacity to meet service level targets.
- Provides capacity requirements for new or modified IT services.
- Maintains an overall understanding of current service capacity and trends.
- Produces and maintains a Capacity Plan
- Assesses the capacity impact of new change requests, Problems and Incidents.
- Participates on the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as needed
- Is responsible for monitoring IT capacity levels, comparing actual levels against targets, and addressing shortfalls.
