You will have the autonomy to re-engineer critical processes, guarantee system resilience, and directly influence the company's technological roadmap, ensuring the platform is scalable and ready for future challenges.To achieve these objectives, you will need to have a track record of past accomplishments, including:

Demonstrated experience architecting and managing high-availability solutions (specifically MS SQL Always On) in a business-critical environment.
A history of leading performance tuning initiatives that resulted in significant, measurable improvements to application speed and efficiency.
Proven success in developing and testing disaster recovery plans from the ground up.
Experience consulting on data architecture and evaluating modern technologies, including cloud database solutions.

Key Technical & Functional Requirements

Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019): This core database technology requires deep experience to optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot the existing environment to meet performance objectives.
Microsoft SQL Always On: This high-availability technology demands practical, hands-on experience to enhance system resilience and guarantee uptime.
Disaster Recovery & Backup Strategy: This essential functional knowledge enables redesigning and validating the company's data resilience and recovery plans, as outlined in the performance objectives.
Cloud Database Experience (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS): This expertise is necessary for successfully evaluating new technologies and developing the data platform modernization strategy.
Query and Database Optimization: This foundational skill supports overhauling the performance and tuning framework. The candidate must identify and resolve inefficiencies to improve application speed.
SQL Server Integration, Reporting, and Analysis Services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS): Experience with these tools helps understand and optimize the full data ecosystem, including ETL and reporting processes that affect performance.
