Geotechnician - MidrandJob SummaryA geotechnical and groundwater consultant with offices in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and Western Cape has an opening for a geotechnician on contract. The role will be diverse and will require an interest in fieldwork, an aptitude for project and site management, and also for liaison with clients and field crews. The position will be based out of our Johannesburg offices. The candidate must be able to work independently and carry out work as prescribed by the company safe work procedures. The minimums requirements for the position are: • 3 years degree or equivalent qualification is geological sciences (BSc) • Minimum 2 years of field experience in the geotechnical field • Driver license • Proficient in site investigations according to SAICE site investigation manual • Own transport • Proficient in English • Have a valid passport The selection of applicant will be done is three phases which will comprise 1) an interview, 2) theoretical exercise to showcase knowledge (at the interview) and 3) field exercise in geotechnical site investigation for showcasing knowledge in field. Candidates will only be invited to phase 3 only on successful completion of phase 1 and 2. Remuneration will be discussed at the interview. Applications close on 23 February 2024.
