· Working with the Occupational Therapist to plan, implement, and administer educational, vocational, and recreational programs to restore, enhance and maintain performance in children with physical and intellectual disabilities· Selecting therapy activities to fit patients needs and capabilities· Observing and recording patients progress, attitudes, and behavior, and maintaining this information in client records· Carrying out home visits for enrolled and potential beneficiaries and assisting caregivers and families in carrying out home programs, basic living skills, and the care and use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices and therapy equipment· Implements and/or assists Occupational Therapists with implementing treatment plans to help clients function independently· Providing ongoing and to community health workers· General practice management (e.g. keeping track of consumables)· A recognized qualification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant/Technician· Registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Technician and other relevant statutory bodies· Clearance Certificate for working with children· At least 5 years of clinical experience.· Experience in working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities will be an advantage· Experience in rendering community-based rehabilitation services· Valid drivers license· The successful candidate must be passionate about working with children with disabilities and working in a rural community setting.
