- Assist with the conceptualization of new hotel offers / services / facilities / programs.
- Drafting of manuals for operations, if required.
- Follow up on program performance.
- Identify opportunities to build on the new product.
- Marketing initiatives to promote a new product.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and excellent communication skills.
- Adopt a “can-do” attitude with regard to customer enquiries.
- Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
- Understand ideal customers and how they relate to products.
- Encourage repeat business through excellent customer service and inquiry handling.
- Promote and sell products and services.
- Meet planned sales goals.
- Contact and manage some clients by mail, telephone, customer outings and site inspections.
- Attract direct guests through online marketing and advertising.
- Assist in identifying new avenues of business and bring in more events to the hotel.
- Set individual sales targets.
- Track sales data.
- Analysis of local market trends and competitor activity.
- Sales calls on corporate businesses in and around the area.
- Build relationships and strategies with key accounts to grow business mutually.
- Establish the annual events calendar for the hotel/s.
- Promote Leisure Club.
- Database management and mining.
- Innovative Marketing Strategies.
- Market products by developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Database management.
- Ensure websites are regularly updated and managed, including photos, descriptions, and promotions.
- Complete marketing plan for TBH and CBR.
- Collaborate with Group Marketing and Production team to implement property-specific campaigns and ensure consistency with brand guidelines.
- Support local execution of group-driven initiatives.
- Maintain promotional materials/collateral/assets/content.
- Collaborations with local events and festivals.
- Target new key accounts potential for the hotel. (i.e. upcoming launches, etc.).
- Implement, maintain and manage marketing channels:
- Traditional Marketing, Digital Marketing, Social Media, E-mail Marketing, SEO and SEM, Third-Party Platforms, Basic Design Creation
- Traditional Marketing.
- Social Media.
- Newsletters and Mailers.
- Pre / Post Communication with clients.
- Service Reviews and Management.
- Ensure that the following are maintained.
- Aesthetics.
- Service Levels.
- Product Presentation.
- To ensure the guest experience is in line with the marketing of the product.
- Demonstrate financial acumen.
- Actively manage business bookings, record any lost business.
- Assist with annual rate and budget review.
- Negotiate space, dates and rates to obtain booking goals while focusing on shoulder and off-season business.
- Monthly and weekly reports on all revenue streams.
- Track sales goals and report results as necessary.
- Respond to guests' reviews according to protocol.
- You are expected to be present during key times for some groups, events, and conferences. You must also remain available telephonically at all times and ensure that you can read and respond to emails without delay.
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Qualification in Sales and Marketing not essential but preferred.
- Applicable Qualification in Hospitality and Tourism not essential but preferred.
- 3-5 Years' experience in the same or similar position.
- Experience in Sales strategies.
- Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs.
- Previous experience in a sales-led hospitality environment is essential.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Opera PMS experience advantageous (or any other PMS).
- Experience working within a broader marketing structure is advantageous.
