Overall Purpose of the Job:To install domestic alarm systems as well as perform on-site programming and testing of such systems. This technician can also perform basic fault finding and install radio communication devices.Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an installer in Security industry
  • Previous programming, wiring, installations and faulty findings experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Sounds knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox and Telecom systems
  • Knowledge of CCTV and Intercom systems.
  • Able to work Standby as and when required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform alarm installations as per quotation
  • Program alarm panels/system as per specifications
  • Issue clients with quotes on site for additional equipment if necessary
  • Plan the cable runs with the wireman
  • Obtain customer codes before attending a call daily and when on Standby
  • Complete handovers
  • Complete invoices and job cards after every installation.
  • Provide Feedback to the Manager upon completion of a call.
  • Ensure the vehicle assigned to you is roadworthy and clean
  • Report all faults to the Senior
  • Treat all clients with respect
  • Give full feedback to clients where necessary.
  • Keep stock up to date and assist store man with stock take
  • Submit petrol slips.
