Job PurposeThe Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of multiple fuel and convenience retail sites across inland and coastal regions. This role provides strategic support, guidance, and leadership to site partners, ensuring sustainable growth, operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The position requires frequent site visits, hands-on engagement, and close collaboration with stakeholders to drive profitability and ensure excellence across all business areas.Key Responsibilities1. Business Relations & Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with site partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders.Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring adherence to standards and values.Resolve escalated issues, address concerns, and implement initiatives to improve service delivery.Represent the company at meetings, functions, and events.2. Operational ExcellenceConduct regular site visits, audits, and performance reviews.Monitor compliance with operational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.Support site partners with operational improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and growth opportunities.Oversee site development projects, upgrades, and refurbishments from inception to completion.Ensure execution of marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and sales initiatives.3. Financial & Performance ManagementAnalyse operational and financial data to assess site performance and profitability.Assist with budget preparation and manage expenditure within agreed limits.Drive efficiency, cost optimisation, and revenue growth.Provide accurate reporting on regional performance, profitability, and key metrics.4. People & LeadershipSupport site partners in building and leading high-performing teams.Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.Ensure effective recruitment, training, and upskilling of staff within sites.Mentor, coach, and guide site managers to achieve operational excellence.RequirementsMatric with NQF 5 certification (essential).Diploma in Business/Operations/Commerce (advantageous).35 years experience in fuel retail, convenience, or related industries.Proven operational management experience across multiple sites.Strong leadership and people management skills.Solid financial acumen with experience in budgets, reporting, and P&L.Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to adopt new technologies.Ability to travel extensively and work extended hours, including weekends and public holidays.Key Competencies & AttributesStrong operational and project management skills.Analytical thinker with high attention to detail.Effective communicator with strong negotiation skills.Resilient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.Strategic decision-making with a solutions-driven mindset.Leadership presence with the ability to influence and inspire.High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
