Purpose of the Role: To assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodation, public spaces, and surrounding areas. Responsible for supporting the smooth running of housekeeping operations and ensuring that all tasks are carried out to lodge standards.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the Housekeeping Manager with daily operations and staff supervision
  • Inspecting rooms and public areas to ensure lodge standards are met
  • Approving rooms for occupancy under the guidance of the Housekeeping Manager
  • Reporting maintenance issues and following up as required
  • Assisting with managing lost-and-found items in line with lodge policies
  • Monitoring stock levels of amenities and supplies, and reporting replenishment needs
  • Ensuring safe working practices under Occupational Health & Safety guidelines
  • Monitoring staff productivity and assisting with room turnaround efficiency
  • Ensuring stayover rooms are serviced promptly and to standard
  • Performing other duties as required to support the Housekeeping Manager
Criteria
  • Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or supervisory roles
  • Strong communication, organizational, and team support skills
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and perform under pressure
  • Familiarity with Opera, Apex, or similar reservation systems advantageous
  • Proficiency in English with a good command of Afrikaans
