- Governance, Compliance & People Management:
- Adhere to and enforce Procurement strategy, policy and procedures,
- Drive a culture of Governance and compliance across the Team of Buyers
- Submit monthly reports and annual audits to ensure compliance with the procurement function standards
- Create an integrated team,
- Lead, mentor and guide Buyers
- Category Management & Sourcing:
- Own, develop, maintain and update category strategy and Category Procurement SOPs
- Review and analyse historical spend, technical requirements, market analysis, identified suppliers, sourcing strategies, key risks, savings opportunities and implementation timelines
- Execute sourcing events to award contracts
- Develop negotiation strategies, and negotiate with suppliers
- Regularly interface with end users through regular recurring meetings to address business requirements
- Anticipate and manage sourcing barriers and issues, manage spend and find savings.
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement supply risk management strategy
- Purchase to Pay, Sourcing:
- Oversees execution of central category strategy
- Ensure all purchasing is done in compliance with the category strategy and associated DoA
- Supplier Management:
- Set the supplier strategy (includes localisation)
- Work with Contract Manager to implement supplier contracts
- Identify supplier risks and apply mitigations together with Country Procurement
- Manage supplier relationships and act as key contact for centralised category suppliers
- Engage with Procurement Executive for in-country supplier relationship management requirements
- Contract Management:
- Manage Contract Administration with Category Buyer
- Manage SLAs and develop/manage supplier performance metrics
- Support Contract Manager with drafting contracts by supplying pertinent information (scope, pricing, specific commercial terms, etc.)
- Review the contracting schedule regularly and take action
- Manage and track contract spend across the category
- Relevant Bachelors Degree in Commerce
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
- Detailed knowledge of category management
- Advanced negotiating skills
- Legal contracting skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Able to build and maintain relationships at supplier level
- Strong influencing skills
- Sound judgement
- Excellent problem solving skills
