The Production Manager's primary function is to manage employees and various operations within the
Production Division from and administrative and analytic processing capacity. The duties will include but
not be limited to:RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW):
- Daily planning of department needs with the Divisional Director.
- Ensure that deadlines and targets are met as per operational requirements.
- Providing a professional, efficient and accurate service to customers who deliver non-ferrous
- Managing and planning the non-ferrous collections.
- Managing the non-ferrous collection staff.
- Plan processing of material for a particular requirement within respective department.
- Ensure that tasks are delegated to different staff members within the department.
- Ensure that employees are properly trained and licensed for the machinery/ equipment that they
- Ensure resources are used effectively so that maximum productivity is achieved.
- Constant checking and controlling quality of material.
- Ensure that Health and Safety regulations are followed.
- Adhere to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department
- Ensure that all Employees' Written Task Procedures are up to date and that they have been explained and that Employee understands the contents thereof.
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- A minimum of between 2-5 years' experience in a production industry.
- Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Logistic experience
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Problem-solving skills.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Accurate and precise numeric centric.
- Excellent knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize Non-Ferrous Collection Vehicles.
- Knowledge of Company Rules & Regulations.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning
- Knowledge of production planning and goal setting.
- Good knowledge of H&S regulations.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
