- Establish and manage the PMO's frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
- Align project objectives with business goals and strategy.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards across all projects.
- Develop a project portfolio strategy, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact and available resources.
- Oversee the management and delivery of all projects within the organization.
- Monitor project performance (budget, schedule, scope, risks) and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Ensure all projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and client or stakeholder expectations.
- Address bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues that arise during project execution.
- Manage project managers and support staff, assigning appropriate resources to ensure projects are adequately staffed.
- Plan and allocate budgets, workforce, and other resources for project success.
- Drive team performance by providing leadership, guidance, and support to project managers.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle and adjust plans as necessary to minimize impact.
- Implement and promote best practices in project management.
- Continually improve project delivery processes, tools, and templates.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policy, procedures and processes.
- Keep up to date with effective policy and practice execution strategies and implementation.
- Lead initiatives to automate and streamline workflows within the PMO.
- Serve as the key point of contact for senior management and project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders, providing updates on progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Monitor project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Analyze financial performance and optimize project costs without compromising on quality. Business
- Contractual management and controlling of the project (whether FIDIC, JBCC, GCC or NEC)
- Ensuring adequate integration of all key organizational streams required to support the project execution within the PMO. These streams include amongst others the Engineering stream, Workshop and Installations stream, Procurement / Warehouse stream as well as SHEQ stream
- Undertake Specific Client Training as required to fulfil role.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- B Degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management
- Masters degree or relevant certifications like PMP, PRINCE2 (Advantage).
- Project Management accreditation
- 7-10 years project engineering or management in industrial projects
- 5 years of plant maintenance or installations work
- 5 years experience in Design, Electrical & Project Engineering
- 5 years experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
- 5 years experience in leadership role within a Project Management Office (PMO) (Advantage).
- Project management knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, CAD and MS Projects
- FIDIC or NEC Contract Management
