Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a tertiary qualification in Agriculture
  • AVCASA / BASOS certification with practical experience of crop protection will be advantageous
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in agricultural sales and marketing as well as technical expertise
  • Knowledge of the export fruit industry value chain and the influence of phytosanitary pests, plant diseases and maximum residual levels in this industry is essential
  • Must have proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word etc., and GIS skills are an advantage)
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (Read, Write, and Speak)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing business activities in the market and helping execute strategies for the designated areas.
  • Pursuing annual sales targets set for key distribution agents, customers, crops, and varieties, while assisting in the introduction of new products into the designated areas.
  • Handling administration tasks, including area budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and supporting sales operations such as depot and stock management and documentation.
  • Managing relationships with agents and industry stakeholders and growing the agent network.
  • Conducting in-orchard applications of specific products.
