- Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc. – PASTEL & XERO.
- Handling of VAT and PAYE reviews.
- Invoicing and debtors’ collection.
- IRP5 calculations, reconciliations and submissions.
- Maintenance of SARS accounts.
- SARS queries and correspondence.
- Xero and Pastel Accounting support.
- PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions.
- EMP501/IRP5 reconciliations (Easyfile).
- Payroll.
- Registration and deregistration for Income Tax, PAYE, VAT and Import and Export licenses.
- Tax clearance applications.
- UIF registration and administration.
- VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions.
- WCA/FEM/RMA returns, registrations, submission of returns and arranging letters of good standing.
- Administrative duties.
- Liaison with clients.
- Time sheet approvals.
- Responsible for approving overtime, study leave, time-off requests, other leave requests for the relevant staff.
- Assist with ongoing training of the SAIPA trainees within the bookkeeping environment.
- Responsible for ensuring that up-to-date signed engagement letters are on hand for bookkeeping and payroll clients.
- The candidate must have at least an undergraduate degree in finance/accounting.
- A postgraduate qualification in finance/accounting will count in favour of the candidate.
- Having completed articles (either SAICA or SAIPA) will be an advantage.
- Experience with GreatSoft, Pastel, Xero, SimplePay, Pastel Payroll, CaseWare, and eFiling.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years bookkeeping experience.
- R35,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
- Discretionary bi-annual performance-based bonus.
- Discretionary performance-based bonus linked to fee targets.
