RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our client's team based in Cape Town. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and developing civil engineering designs for various projects, including roadways, water and sewage lines, drainage, and land grading specifications.Responsibilities

Conceptualization and Design: Develop innovative solutions based on project requirements.
Research and Development: Stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes to evaluate performance and durability.
CAD Modeling and Drafting: Produce detailed designs using computer-aided design software.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align designs with stakeholder needs.
Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the design process.
Cost Optimization: Balance design requirements with cost-effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting: Record design processes and specifications for reference.
Continuous Improvement: Incorporate feedback and lessons learned for ongoing enhancements.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure designs meet industry regulations and safety standards.
Customer Support: Provide technical assistance to end-users as needed.
Project Management: Oversee projects from initiation to completion, including scheduling and resource management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering or a related field
3-5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, including site planning for commercial and residential projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Knowledge of engineering delivery and Civil-related BIM workflows
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
Ability to visualize 3-dimensionally from 2-dimensional sketches
Detailed knowledge of model-based design (BIM) protocols, standards, and software
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Strong computational and spatial ability
Ability to present effectively in front of stakeholders and managers

Benefits

Salary: R420K/yr - R360K/yr, negotiable
