Job Summary Witels Civil & Hiring, earthmoving and precision specialists, located in Slanghoek Valley near Rawsonville, currently has a vacancy for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is an independent self-starter and has a knack for problem-solving. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related components • Take oil samples and arrange the analysis thereof • Determine the parts and/or equipment needed for a specific job and place orders accordingly • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements and inspections • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed • Comply with health and safety regulations REQUIREMENTS: • Grade 12 (Matric) • Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic • At least 5 years' relevant experience • Valid code EC1 (10) and PDP driver's licence will be advantageous • Basic computer skills (i.e. MS Office) • Fully proficient in Afrikaans and ability to read and understand English • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and earthmoving machinery • Experience with hydraulic systems and auto-electrical knowledge preferred • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams • Basic gas cutting, welding and lathe experience • Medically fit and able to work in confined spaces, heights and manage heavy loads Please note: The job incumbent will be required to work overtime and weekends during peak season,
