Operations Lead - ProspectonJOB SPECIFICATIONThe Operations Lead role is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of fuel, gas, and cylinder distribution operations. The role ensures service level agreements are met with customers, suppliers, and contractors while upholding strict HSE compliance. It involves managing staff, fleet, inventory, and dispatch functions to maintain smooth, efficient, and safe operations. The position requires a strong leader with operational expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and stakeholders. Success in this role will drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.JOB SUMMARY:Operational Management
  • Oversee daily dispatch planning for fuel and packed vehicles, including driver scheduling and issue resolution.
  • Control and reconcile LPG, fuel, and cylinder inventory; prepare demand forecasts.
  • Manage procurement and scheduling of fuel and LPG orders with refineries and suppliers.
  • Monitor and optimise turnaround times for loading, offloading, and vehicle dispatch to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that operational SOPs are followed while proactively identifying and proposing new recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce HSE policies and compliance with legal and company safety standards.
  • Record and report incidents, accidents, spills, and near misses.
  • Ensure vehicle, driver, and depot documentation is complete and compliant.
Fleet & Maintenance
  • Manage the maintenance and roadworthiness of tankers, trucks, and forecourt equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle files, driver training records, and service logs.
People Leadership
  • Recruit, induct, train, and manage operational staff.
  • Promote teamwork and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate inventory and other operational records.
  • Prepare and submit operational performance reports.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven experience in operations, logistics, or depot management.
  • Strong knowledge of fuel/LPG distribution and inventory control.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in fleet management.
  • Proficient in MS Office and transport management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
