A well-established organisation in the professional services sector is looking for an Projects Accountant to support their finance function. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within a small finance team and will be responsible for a broad range of financial and administrative tasks. This is a hybrid technical and operational role offering exposure to financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight to a finance team
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements for audit purposes.
- Oversee accounts payable and maintain relationships with banking partners.
- Manage fixed asset registers and ensure monthly reconciliation to the trial balance.
- Administer instalment sale agreements and mortgage facility documentation.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for review on a monthly basis.
- Draft annual financial statements using CaseWare.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of finance systems and processes.
- Handle revenue recognition and sub-consultant accounting processes.
- Drive accounts receivable collections and monitor bad debts.
- Manage staff expense claims and staff account reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll processes and ensure statutory compliance.
- Ensure income tax submissions and related compliance are up to date.
BCom Honours in Accounting (essential)Approximately 5 years in a similar financial role.Proven experience with the following systems:
- SAP Business One
- SAGE 300
- Power BI
- Caseware
