Our client, a prominent player in the construction industry, is in search of a skilled Quantity Surveyor to enhance their Midrand team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with expertise in residential property and strong technical prowess in quantity surveying.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and analyze tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within budgetary constraints.
  • Utilize construction costing software such as Candy or any other CCS to accurately manage project costs.
  • Utilize QTO or Cost X software for quantity take-off and cost estimation.
  • Generate detailed reports on project progress, cost variations, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering initiatives.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments as required to monitor progress and resolve cost-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (BSc/BTech) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Preferably, experience in the Residential Property Industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying within the Building & Construction industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using construction costing software such as Candy or any other CCS (Non-negotiable).
  • Proficiency in QTO or Cost X software for quantity takeoff and cost estimation.
  • Excellent reporting skills with the ability to generate clear and concise reports.
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in all tasks.
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
