- Manage and motivate a small team to tight deadlines.
- Ensuring impeccable financial control and discipline as well as the accuracy of results.
- Consolidation of multi-site, multi entity/currency group accounts
- Own the management reporting, month end process and financial systems, as well as the preparation of quarterly re-forecasts and annual budgets. (to be confirmed)
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Ownership of financial systems: Ownership of Xero accounting system (and it's add ons) with the ability to improve/upgrade as the group grows, particularly into a bigger group from a standalone business
- Provision and presentation of divisional and departmental performance
- Preparation of quarterly re-forecasts and annual budgets (to be confirmed)
- Cash flow management including preparation /review monthly cash forecasts
- Be able to identity and action process improvements
- Identify and understand potential areas for improvement in the working capital cycle
- Liaise with external auditors, prepare annual accounts, associated statutory reporting, and run the audit process
- Assist with non-finance staff development: Understanding budgeting/analysis; Understanding of policies; Training of reading reports; Derive KPIs; Finance policies (expenses policy, overseas etc.)
- Managing and motivating junior team members.
- Strong working knowledge and experience of Xero desirable.
- Strong Excel skills - Intermediate to Advanced (will be tested before hire)
- Dealing with stakeholders at senior and board level.
- Ability to impact and influence change at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge and technical accounting experience in IFRS.
- CA/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification. Strong QBE candidates considered.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced SME business and/or business with multi sites.
- Experience with consolidation of complex group structures including subsidiaries, affiliates, joint ventures and investments.
- Interest within hospitality, food and beverages and/or retail industries.
- Understanding of UK VAT and PAYE/payroll.
