Durban North, Durban - KwaZulu NatalOur client based in Phoenix Industrial Park is looking for an experienced Plant Engineer to be a part of the teamResponsibilies:
- Assist in complex architectural design, electrical, mechanical, and environmental and layout development work in connection with equipment, entire maintenance of the plant and rearrangements in plant facilities
- Work involves the handling of technical duties where decision are made within the limits of general practices and standards and where supervision is available to handle unusual situation.
- Work also involves direct instruction and training of a small group of employee
- Design and implement the maintenance structure for the electrical and mechanical infrastructure and equipment of the plant.
- Do plant inspections
- Check and commission of maintenance work.
- Plan and coordinate the maintenance team
- Design and repair electrical and mechanical systems
- Prepares designs and layouts for review
- Do monthly reports of maintenance and engineering.
- Compile plant, action log and shutdown reports.
- Submit monthly reports
- Motivate team to excel
- Manage staffs performance
- Apply company disciplinary code and grievance procedure
- Address conflict situations and personal problems
- Manage attendance and shift manning requirements
- Ensure crews have adequate training and that has been appropriately documented.
- Management and coordination of all breakdowns and shutdowns
- Coordinate the work done by contractors for planned shutdowns
- Design, plan and coordinate the installation of electrical and mechanical equipment, machinery and components
- Evaluate components required
- Work with suppliers to match components
- Audit quotations various suppliers
- Place orders
- Inspect technical items received from suppliers
- Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Experience in the design installation, commissioning of electrical sub-stations, motor control centres and instrumentation & control systems
- 2-5 years prior experience in supervisory capacity within similar industry
