My client in the Instrumentation industry is looking for a highly effective Instrumentation Service Technician and Customer Support.The Company is based in the Johannesburg South area, and requires the appropriate candidate to live in this area or its surrounds.The Instrumentation Service Technician and Customer Support is required to do everything necessary to promote the current and future profitability and best interests of the Company. This includes increasing sales and margins, minimizing costs, improving and widening customer relations, ensuring smooth and accurate paperwork and documentation, optimizing stockholding, ensuring that the business operates efficiently and effectively and safeguarding THE Companys assets and reputation, acting with diligence, integrity and loyalty and being a good role model and ambassador for the Company.The main objective of the Company is to ensure happy customers and a profitable business. Ideally work in real time, processing each day's input on that day. Accuracy, reliability, salesmanship, management, alacrity and optimizing Company performance are critical.Duties & ResponsibilitiesService Department Optimization
  • Wide range of equipment which is consistently evolving keep up to date.
  • Co-ordination within service department.
  • Execute all repair, site work or other work at an excellent level of performance and with customers.
  • Work to job completion at the highest standard.
  • Handle all spares requirements and place orders with the relevant supplier.
  • Provide support for the WaMSS Scada.
  • Standardised work execution and reporting to a high level.
  • Record keeping of equipment and work
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, etc., to make sure that all information is shared accurately and timeously. All oral communication must be followed up with emails, written messages, etc., to provide a written record.
  • As a sales organisation to maintain the highest levels or relationships with customers and to promote the Companys services and products.
  • Our aim must be repeat business from all Company customers.
  • Completing time sheets, reports, proposals, quotations, etc., timeously efficiently and at the highest level.
  • The work requirements include customer relations, recommendations, engineering, quotes, setup and calibrating equipment, on site installations and commissioning, calibration certificates, etc.
Customer SupportCustomer support incorporates external sales, internal sales, service department etc., and includes projects, on-going contracts and challenges. The job requirement is to deliver excellent, efficient and effective execution service to all external and internal customers.Hands-onThe role requires the Instrumentation Service Technician and Customer Support to be hands-on, including: servicing on the tools; making customer visits; documentation; quotes and proposals; corresponding with suppliers and customers, expediting; cash collections, etc. The aim is to provide excellent customer service, at all times.Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Must have prior experience in a similiar and/or same INSTRUMENTATION role with at least 8+ years' experience
  • Excellent communication, and organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Matric qualification is a requirement with highly satisfactory results in mathematics
  • Tertiary qualification i.e., bachelors degree and/or National Diploma in Instrumentation
  • Must have integrity
  • Must be very meticulous by nature
  • Highly effective work ethic
