Junior Tool Maker or CNC Tool Setter

• Lift position and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle parts.
• Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
• Study and read engineering drawings and sketches, or specifications to plan the operation
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Lay out the engineering drawings design on the raw material, then cut it to size and shape using manually controlled machine tools, power tools, and hand tools.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
• Work unsupervised when necessary.
• Polish or texture moulds to specification using manual abrasives and power tools.
• Assemble machined/Fabricated parts to form complete moulds to specifications.
• Fabricate parts by hand to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping at all times in the workshop.
• Where necessary, make deliveries or do collections.
• Monitor stock levels and notify the supervisor accordingly so as to maintain productivity.
• Maintenance of moulds/Tools and necessary equipment.
• Maintenance of machines when necessary.
• Maintenance of machine tools and tips.
• Maintain and file Job cards accordingly.
• Work overtime/weekends when needed to meet operational requirements.
• Work night shift when needed to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain PPE at all times.
• Observe health and safety protocols at all times.
• Observe the allotted time for each job.
• Maintain accurate time sheets.
• Exercise due diligence when planning/executing tasks.
• Report any problems or errors immediately.
• Fulfill any reasonable request.
