- Lift position and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle parts.
- Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
- Study and read engineering drawings and sketches, or specifications to plan the operation
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Lay out the engineering drawings design on the raw material, then cut it to size and shape using manually controlled machine tools, power tools, and hand tools.
- Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
- Work unsupervised when necessary.
- Polish or texture moulds to specification using manual abrasives and power tools.
- Assemble machined/Fabricated parts to form complete moulds to specifications.
- Fabricate parts by hand to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping at all times in the workshop.
- Where necessary, make deliveries or do collections.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the supervisor accordingly so as to maintain productivity.
- Maintenance of moulds/Tools and necessary equipment.
- Maintenance of machines when necessary.
- Maintenance of machine tools and tips.
- Maintain and file Job cards accordingly.
- Work overtime/weekends when needed to meet operational requirements.
- Work night shift when needed to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain PPE at all times.
- Observe health and safety protocols at all times.
- Observe the allotted time for each job.
- Maintain accurate time sheets.
- Exercise due diligence when planning/executing tasks.
- Report any problems or errors immediately.
- Fulfill any reasonable request.
