This permanent role suits a newly qualified CA(SA) who is eager to take ownership, work directly with clients, and grow into a trusted advisor.Minimum Requirements & QualitiesNewly qualified CA(SA) (SAICA) with completed articles; first-time board passes advantageous.Solid technical grounding in IFRS for SMEs/IFRS, ISA/ISRE/ISRS, the Companies Act 71 of 2008, and core South African tax principles (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Tax Administration).Proficiency in CaseWare/Working Papers (or Draftworx), SARS eFiling & EasyFile, and accounting platforms such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Pastel.Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling). Power BI exposure is a plus.Strong analytical writing and report-drafting ability; able to present technical conclusions clearly and concisely.Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, accuracy, and deadline discipline; comfortable managing multiple engagements concurrently.Confident communicator who builds client trust and can push back respectfully when required.Driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites in the Western Cape.Professional working proficiency in English (Afrikaans advantageous).South African work authorisation.Duties (Including but not limited to)Assurance & Engagement ManagementPlan and execute independent reviews and compilations; perform risk assessments, design procedures, lead fieldwork, and clear review notes.Prepare complete, high-quality working-paper files and engagement deliverables to firm standards.Financial Reporting & AdvisoryDraft annual financial statements (IFRS for SMEs/IFRS) including disclosures, accounting policies, and technical position papers.Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analyses; present insights to management.Support valuations, due diligences, and transaction readiness (basic financial modelling, quality-of-earnings support).Tax Compliance & SARS InteractionPrepare corporate and individual tax computations and returns (ITR14/ITR12, IRP6), VAT201, and related reconciliations.Manage SARS queries, reviews, and audits with evidence-backed responses and clear technical rationale.Client Service & Relationship OwnershipServe as day-to-day contact, manage timelines, WIP, recoveries, and billing; flag scope changes early.Identify process and control improvements; draft pragmatic recommendations that clients can implement.People & QualityReview and coach trainees, provide on-the-job training, uphold audit methodology, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain strict confidentiality and independence; adhere to the firm's quality control and ethical standards.SalaryOur client offers a competitive salary, depending on qualification and experience.Applicants who feel they fit the above profile and meet ALL the minimum requirements are urged to apply for this position.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
